I grew up loving sports, some may say obsessed with sports. I played every sports game there was from APBA to Statis Pro to Subbuteo. I was a sports junking who grew up before fantasy sports.
Finally in the early 80′s, I found my passion…fantasy football. I joined a mail league called Gonzo football (which is still a mail league) and I was hooked. I would try fantasy baseball, basketball and even fantasy golf and horse racing. I searched day and night for the best leagues with the most realistic rules and scoring systems. I tried over and over again to get my friends to join some of the leagues that I had found but they always seemed to have there own favorite leagues.
So that is where the “Office Pool Guy” was born. In the late 90′s I decided I would create pools and leagues for my friends. I started with online fantasy leagues, then I put together some brackets, pick contests, and squares and from there I had my calling. I would be in charge of putting together leagues and contests for all my friends. I had my purpose…I was the “Office Pool Guy”.
